Bourbon Legends, feature film
comedy/horror
script written, seeking funding
If American Pie had an all night drunken orgy with The Goonies and any one of the millions of slasher films you’ve ever seen, the stork would deliver: Bourbon Legends!
Our rollicking adventure opens as lovable, reluctant hero Austin Cohen spellbinds three crafty 13-year olds around a campfire with “The Legend of Bus Driver Jack.” His phone rings and his girlfriend of 5 years dumps him. We soon discover she’s not alone, as a defeated Austin mistakenly presses “speakerphone” instead of “off” and everyone is serenaded by her operatic moans of ecstasy, prompting an all-out verbal assault from the fun-loving kids.
Best pal Charlie throws a “cheer up Austin” shindig complete with beer, bongs, and extreme Big Wheel Racing. Their best gal pal, Devi, swings by and discovers Austin has decided to break out his slacker shell and make the film he’s always said he wants to make - a documentary about town urban legend, Bus Driver Jack, who’s so popular, the local hangout sells a virtual cornucopia of BDJ merchandise including his very own comic book.
Uncle Jud’s Travelin‘ Picture Show rolls into town and sets up shop right in Panzer Field, home of the legendary BDJ and site of the mysterious disappearances that have plagued the town. So “fired up” Austin recruits “easily distracted” Charlie to shoot footage at the show.
The 13-year olds join in on the fun, zipping off on their own quest to uncover the truth about the legend, as they follow the creator of the BDJ comic, an odd gypsy woman, who claims she has visions of Jack tearing his victims limb from limb. When the kids break into her home, they find more than they could have possibly imagined.
Heating things up at the show, Charlie and Devi have had purely physical attraction for years and have chosen the show to test those murky waters. So in usual Charlie fashion, he’s flaked on filming the documentary and primarily considers the Picture Show as his “get it on with Devi” extravaganza. However, among “ass serenade” pranks and some good old fashion “drive in” sexcapades, Austin realizes he has feelings for Devi – setting up a precarious love triangle.
Things take a harsher, yet still riotous turn when BDJ crashes the show and the bodies start piling up in an outrageous, blood-splattering brouhaha - leaving Austin to make his film, win gal-pal Devi, and save his friends, all while navigating a labyrinth of high octane pranks and fun, culminating in a feisty, phantasmagorical death match with the legendary Bus Driver Jack!
